I’m 18….

Seriously, when and how did this even happen? I feel like it was just yesterday that I was starting elementary school and now I’m an adult. You don’t really listen to adults when they tell you to enjoy your youth because it goes by fast, but I’m finally starting to believe that. i know I’m still a teenager (only an adult in the eyes of the law I guess), but everything is speeding by. It is the end of senior year and in just a few months, I will be starting college. It’s thrilling and scary as hell at the same time. Everything is going to change. Sometimes I worry that going to college and having everything change will keep me from doing what I love. I have always relied on my dreams to keep me going, and I still do. But lately, it has been frustrating beyond belief. To try so hard and wonder when it’s all going to happen. To wonder if I will ever get the chance to show my talent to the world. This is one of the hardest industries in the world, and I chose to put myself in it. Of course, I wouldn’t have it any other way because I really do love it. But seeing people my age getting opportunities I would kill for is what frustrates me. I guess in a way it definitely motivates me too. It makes me want to work harder than I ever have, and that’s what I’m doing. People don’t realize how difficult it can be putting yourself out there at auditions and never knowing what is going to happen. Being in theater and working professionally has made me a mature person. All I know is, I want my dream to come true more than anything in the world. As my life goes on, I’m going to work even harder to accomplish my dreams. No matter how upset I may be right now or how emotional about it, I am going to continue to pursue it without a doubt. 18 years old and ready to go for my dream at full force. It can be tough but I just need to keep the drive. I guess this is all part of growing up.
